Requiem for an Ideal

I've made you and I can destroy you
I've made you but maybe I'll alter you
You're my ideal, formed by my imagination
Concretized by my desires
But you fall short, because you are real
You fall short, because my ideal is just that
An ideal, something that nothing can ever live up to
Then why do you continue to dissapoint me?
Because I continue to hope and continue to wish
That you will bear frutition to my ideal
That you will idealize, ideally realize
So what do I do? Form a new ideal?
Then you're still an ideal, just ideally less than the previous
So then what do I do?
Stop expecting, stop making ideals...

Requiem for an Ideal
